Hello Fellow Readers and Writers–
Well, I have eight chapters under my belt. I’m hoping to write at least two chapters a day, seven days a week. At that rate it will take me another two weeks to finish the first draft of Smothered in Yarn. Not bad, really. Then comes the fun part of editing and rewriting. I call this process “adding the frosting to the cake.”
The worst part is trying to outdo my last book. I don’t want to disappoint readers, and apparently the last book, Knitting Can be Murder is a HUGE HIT! My goal is to always write the next book better. That’s a pretty stiff order, sometimes, but I’ll do my best not to let my readers down. And I’m in good company, as far as the fear factor goes. It seems as if even the best writers get that nagging feeling that they’ll never be able to write a decent book again–people like Hemingway, Ray Bradbury, Stephen King, Elizabeth George, and so many others. Like I said, I’m in good company!
Well, off to the salt mines. Talk with you later.
Happy Reading and Writing to you all,
Jill-Ayn
